I believe in community and peer support and I am proud to enable you to get in touch with some of my amazing colleagues; professionals who specialise in different areas of pregnancy and birth in Edinburgh.

Positive Birth Edinburgh - I am a facilitator at this local group which provides professional and peer-led support and a safe place to share evidence-based information on birth choices and rights as well as birth experiences and stories. Our monthly meetings are free to attend, open and welcoming to all.

Kin Collective - Kin Collective Wellbeing is a community hub based in Edinburgh connecting families together. They provide a space supporting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in pregnancy and early parenthood and a place to meet, share and connect. They are a community interest company and they reinvest their profits to benefit the communities that they support.

Karla Napier - A wonderful breastfeeding advisor and lactation consultant with 25 years of experience, based in Edinburgh.

Mulberry Osteopaths - A fantastic team of Osteopaths based at Mulberry House. They offer therapies for pregnancy and postnatally, as well as cranial osteopathy for newborns and children.

Pilates Plus Physio - An experienced team of Physiotherapists and Pilates instructors who offer antenatal and postnatal Pilates classes, as well as a dedicated Mama Check Up physiotherapy service in-depth focused for pregnancy and postnatally.

Beautiful Bairns - Rachael Lynch is an experienced photographer specialising in maternity, newborn, baby and family photography in her cosy studio or on location photoshoots around the Edinburgh and Lothians areas.

Elspeth Alexandra - Elspeth is a specialist women's health and fitness coach, specialising in pregnancy and postnatal. She teaches classes to keep you moving throughout your pregnancy and start your postnatal comeback safely, with special emphasis on core and pelvic floor rehab.

Positive Birth Scotland - Gemma Nealon is a practising midwife who offers excellent Natal Hypnotherapy and Birth Preparation workshops in Edinburgh.

Maureen Brownlee - A midwife and lactation consultant offering antenatal and/or postnatal breastfeeding support to mums in the comfort of their own home.

SiMBA - A local charity who donate Memory Boxes to help families to gather precious items of the time that they have to spend with their baby. They also refurbish Family Rooms giving families and peaceful homely place in the hospital to spend time with their baby.

Napiers Clinic Edinburgh - A clinic that offers consultations with qualified, trained practitioners across a wide variety of herbal medicine and complementary therapies. They also offer a low income clinic for all of their treatments.

La Leche League Edinburgh - This is the local LLL group. They hold various monthly meetings in Edinburgh.

Claire Houston Baby Massage - Claire Houston is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage. She teaches 5 week courses in Baby Massage, runs Dads classes and offers one to one sessions.

Anilorak Photography - Karolina is a maternity, newborn and baby photographer based in Edinburgh. Her style is very clean and simple, focusing on the baby and their features, without the distraction of many props and colours.

Anu Sharma - Anu is a wonderful Acupuncturist based at Mulberry House. Her special interests include fertility and women's health and she has a wealth of experience supporting pregnant women.

Nikki Kent - Nikki is a skilled pregnancy massage therapist based at Mulberry House. She has a background in music with a passion for sound, especially the healing power in the vibrations. Expect to hear some beautifully relaxing sounds in her sessions.

Marieke Captures - Marieke is an Edinburgh based photographer with a passion to capture every side of womanhood and to celebrate the female body. She has a wealth of experience in maternity, birth and newborn photography

Georgie McCulloch - Georgie is a reflexologist with over 20 years experience of working with pregnant and post-natal women in Edinburgh. She and her colleagues provide nurturing reflexology treatments throughout the whole of pregnancy, including the first trimester right up to birth and the postpartum period. They also offer reflexology treatments to support many areas of women's health, including menstrual issues, hormonal conditions, fertility and menopause.

I am happy to use this space to share some of the resources and information that I found extremely helpful and inspiring during pregnancy, and I hope you may find them useful too. There are of course many more and I invite you to do your own research and find new and interesting resources.

BLA (Black Lives Abuela) Scholarship Fund - A Scholarship created by Abuela Doulas to fund the training and preparation of Black Doulas. I support them and I invite you to do the same.

AIMS - The Association for Improvements in the Maternity Services (AIMS) supports women in during pregnancy and birth, and provides unbiased information about maternity choices. An incredible helpful source of information so you can take evidence based decisions.

Sara Wickham - A website created by a midwife, speaker, author and researcher, providing information, articles and blog posts related to birth and midwifery.

La Leche League GB - A non-profit organisation that provides mother-to-mother support for breastfeeding from pregnancy onwards.

Midwife Thinking - A blog written by Dr Rachel Reed, an Australian Midwife, researcher, author and lecturer, which aims to stimulate thinking and share knowledge, evidence and views on birth and midwifery.

Sarah Buckley - Dr Sarah Buckley is a New Zealand trained and Australian based Doctor, Researcher and Author, and the mother of four home-born children who has published many articles and books about natural childbirth

Spinning Babies - A website that provides a holistic approach to fetal positioning throughout pregnancy and birth.

Evidence Based Birth - A website that offers evidence-based information on pregnancy and birth related topics.

Bliss - A British charity that offers emotional and practical support to empower families of babies born premature or sick and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to provide the best possible care to their baby.

Bumi Sehat Foundation - A non-profit organisation founded by the amazing Robin Lim, which provides health services free of charge for pregnant women and children under the age of five in Indonesia.

Every Mother Counts - A non-profit organisation founded by Christy Turlington Burns, dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother and to raise funds that support maternal health programs around the world.
